I love stories; I love reading them, watching them, and telling them. Stories have the power to move people and to create empathy. This is why I’ve spent my career at Rochester Institute of Technology learning how to tell them through visual mediums.
A couple years ago, I had my first internship at the Glens Falls Post-Star newspaper in which I discovered my love of shooting sports. I especially loved the environment of high school sports in which my work was most appreciated. Parents and families thanked me for being there and covering their child’s game on so many occasions. I began to see how much of an impact I could make in the community.
That’s what matters to me the most: representing both who I photograph and who I’m working for with respect and dignity. I want to make the best pictures for them, not just for myself.
